The Xavier Flouret “Oscar” wine hails from the Maipo Valley of Chile. The 2015 is divine and received 90 Points from Wine & Spirits Magazine! This fantastic rating is also the Year’s Best Maipo Reds and a Best Buy.
Hailing from Molina, Chile, the Oscar is produced by the family winery of Viña Echeverría who have been producing wines in this region is the early 1900’s. The Managing Director, Roberto Ignacio Echeverria, is a 4th generation Chief Winemaker and has been firmly committed to producing these wines of excellence for the last fifteen years.
“Roberto Echeverría makes this wine for Xavier Flouret, blending Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc into a cassis-driven red. It’s lean, with a seedy bitterness against the black-currant-jam flavor, a little tart, but overall soft and mild. Pour it with braised beef.” – Wine & Spirits Magazine
