Cognac One welcomes two new French wineries this Autumn! Château La Dournie in Saint-Chinian and Domaine Melody in Crozes-Hermitage enter the market this week in New York and New Jersey. With these exciting additions, the portfolio continues to expand its representation of premium wines from top appellations across France.

Château La Dournie

Château La Dournie is a certified organic estate in the heart of Saint-Chinian that has been women-led for six generations. Current winemaker Véronique Etienne takes great care to make wines as naturally as possible in order to produce the most pure expression of the region. Schist-dominate sites across the 45-hectare vineyard produce finessed wines that are mineral-driven and high-acid. At the foot of the southern slopes of the Massif Central, facing the Mediterranean Sea, the wines of Saint-Chinian are often compared to Priorat – a region that shares many similarities in climate, soil and grapes. Cognac One welcomes La Dournie with Marie 2020, a 100% Rousanne, and Saint-Chinian Rouge 2018.

Domaine Melody

Domaine Melody is an HEV-Certified vineyard in the Northern Rhône Valley. Husband-and-wife duo Marc Romak & Marlène Romak Durand craft Syrah with serious know-how, from happy, reliable table wines to stellar, cellar worthy expressions. The 20-hectare vineyard is spread over 3 terroirs: the stony terraces of Chassis and Larnage to the north, the white lands of the Château (kaolin) and the high terraces of the Rhône with pebbles (loess). Cognac One welcomes two Crozes-Hermitage and one red Saint Joseph from Domaine Melody.
