Château Carteau St-Emilion Grand Cru 2014 receives 91 Points & a Best Buy from Wine & Spirits
As part of the Wine & Spirits October 2017 Edition, they have featured the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Côtes Daugay 2014 from Château Carteau with 91 points and a Best Buy!
Château Carteau dates back to 1850 and now covers 16 hectares. For five generations, the Bertrand family has taken care of this land in Saint-Emilion with passion and a high respect for the terroir. The clay-limestone soil is located on the hillside south of Saint-Emilion at the foot of the Tertre Daugay. The 35-year-old vines are grown using sustainable methods and are entirely hand-harvested.
“This property, on a clay-limestone hillside south of St-Emilion, has been in the Bertrand family since 1850. It produced a refreshing 2014, with tart cherry flavors and a light touch of oak, offering intensity without weight. There’s a clean limestone line to the structure, framing complex scents of wild mushrooms and woodland herbs. Ready to decant for roast duck.”
