  • Château Bellevue – Morgon
We’ve expanded our selection of Cru Beaujolais with the addition of Château Bellevue’s exquisite Côte du Py. Be one of the first to offer your clients this rare gem as it arrives in the United States for the first time.

The famed Côte du Py, considered most representative of the Morgon Cru, sits at the highest point in Morgon atop an extinct volcano. Concentrated schist soils produce some of the most complex, structured, and age-worthy reds in Beaujolais.

Rising Star of Morgon
Château Bellevue winemaker Tristan Larsen makes serious Gamay. Whole handpicked clusters, long extraction over the course of several weeks, slow fermentation through careful temperature control, and separating the pressing. Sound like Burgundy? This is nuanced, cellar-worthy Beaujolais à la Tristan.

A Story to Tell
Bellevue is a majestic estate, part of the Villié-Morgon village in South Burgundy. Over the years, it has been the home of prestigious occupants such as the Lumière Brothers, inventors of the cinema, and Princess Lieven of Russia. With 22 hectares of Gamay planted across Morgon, it’s a major player in the appellation.

93 Points, James Suckling

“Venezuelan bitter chocolate and red roses on the nose make this a very distinctive Morgon. Then comes the concentrated but unusually silky palate for this appellation, whose strengths are power and backbone. The long finish is beautifully carried by the fine tannins.”
