Introducing Domaine Jolivet! A little gem from Saint-Joseph
Our new Saint-Joseph wines hail from Domaine Jolivet, located in the northern Rhône! The winemaker, Bastien Jolivet, is a third-generation winemaker with work experience in France, New Zealand, and South Africa.
When he came back to France, Bastien decided to help at the family vineyard by joining his father, Alain, in the cellar. Since then, they stopped selling their grapes in order to make their own wine. The 8-hectare vineyard, mostly composed of Saint-Joseph red and white grapes, is cultivated with sustainable methods and is in transition to become organic. As a young Domaine – the first harvest was in 2014 – the wines have already received amazing ratings:
- Cuvée de Louis 2016 – Vin de Pays
- L’Instinct 2015 – Saint Joseph received a score of 91 pts by Robert Parker (Wine Advocate)
- Cuvée “1907” 2015 – Saint Joseph got an outstanding 94 pts by Robert Parker (Wine Advocate)
