The 26 generations of the Antinori family are legendary in Chianti and worldwide for their revolutionary winemaking. They were one of the first to transform the region by planting non-indigenous Bordeaux varietals. One of the original Super Tuscans.
In an effort to differentiate themselves from the table wine of the region and raise the price of their wine, they went against all of the Chianti Classico regulations at the time. Now, they have a global footprint from Tuscany to Napa to Maipo.
Soalaia is from a small section of the Tignanello vineyard, a plot considered the best in the region for its sunny exposure and unique soil content.
