The history of Rol Valentin: 

• 1850: First appearance of Château Rol Valentin in the Féret wine guide
• 1994: Footballer Eric Prissette acquired the estate, which allowed the wines to be recognized internationally for their quality.
• 1998: Stéphane Derenoncourt joined as consulting oenologist.
• 2009: Alexandra and Nicolas Robin saw the potential in the estate and bought it to maintain the excellence of the vineyard, wine production, and tourism.
• 2022: The high-quality wines of Rol Valentin are recognized as Grand Cru when the classification was last updated.

Technical Information:

• Grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec
• Terroir: Ancient sand on clay, North-West plateau with sandy glacis on clay, and clay and limestone on slopes and plateaus
• Average age of vines: 40 years old
• Sustainability: Traditional soil work with no use of herbicides. Hand harvests. Certified Level 3 HVE3 (High Environmental Value certification)
