Meet René Briand: New York’s Favorite Bubbly
Looking for a New Year’s resolution-friendly bubbly to kick off 2025 with? Discover René Briand – a low-dosage, vegan-friendly, and sustainably produced French sparkling wine.
Blended and bottled in the heart of Burgundy, René Briand is crafted by a small team of skilled winemakers dedicated to providing high-quality sparkling wines. These low-dosage and vegan-friendly blends are naturally fermented in stainless steel tanks. Delicate and refined, the crisp bubbles of René Briand can be found in two styles: Blanc de Blancs and Brut Rosé.
The elegance of the Blanc de Blancs is showcased in the fine bubbles and a crisp finish. It displays notes of white flowers, biscuits, yeast, and almonds on the nose, with freshness, depth, and venosity on the palate. The Brut Rosé is a refreshing and delicate bubbly with a clean finish. The aromas and flavors of red fruit are complimented by a structured, elegant, and delicate palate.
The Purest Bubbly
René Briand is dedicated to crafting wines with purity. From vineyard to bottle, René Briand is conscious through every step of the process to create their iconic bubbles – which is why the wines are sustainably produced, vegan friendly, and low in residual sugar.
Sustainability: The vineyard integrates sustainable development into its production process to address common environmental issues in the winemaking industry, such as controlling and recycling water, reducing chemical treatments, and utilizing self-sufficient solar panels on-site.
Vegan-Friendly: No animal products are used at any point in the René Briand production process.
Low-Dosage: On average, René Briand contains less residual sugar than most Prosecco, Cava, and Champagne. The low sugar levels characterize the wine into a lighter, dryer style, making it ideal for cocktail mixing and food pairing.
René Briand is also committed to remaining accessible to every consumer through social responsibility and inclusivity, which is demonstrated through the brand’s “Be Who You Are, Drink How You Want™” tagline, as well as previous partnerships supporting the New York Fashion Institute of Technology Alumni Program and the Whitney Museum of Art.

The Process
René Briand has a carefully curated, unique production process that gives the bubbles their elegance, aromatic notes, and finesse. Winemakers use a lengthened version of the Charmat Method, with regulated horizontal vats large enough to extend the typically short aging process to 4 months.
The Charmat method, also known as the tank method, is a process used to make sparkling wine where secondary fermentation (the process that creates bubbles) occurs in a sealed stainless steel tank rather than in individual bottles. After the initial fermentation, the wine is transferred to a pressurized tank with added sugar and yeast. The tank is sealed, and the yeast ferments the sugar, producing carbon dioxide, which dissolves into the wine, creating the bubbles. After fermentation, it is filtered, often chilled to remove the yeast, and then bottled. The Charmat method is typically used for fresh, fruit-forward effervecent wines, like Prosecco, and is faster and less expensive than the traditional method (used for Champagne).
The René Briand winemakers take extraordinary measures to reduce the fining, filtration, and pumping during fermentation to guarantee a high-quality final result. These production elements ultimately create refined, versatile bubbles, making it a mixologist’s favorite sparkling wine for cocktails!
