United Nations’ wine of choice: Xavier Flouret Fé 2009
Drink what President Obama & the Heads of State enjoyed at the United Nations General Assembly luncheon in September 2016: the superb Xavier Flouret wine – Fé 2009 – Rioja Reserva from Spain
“Red fruits stand out, with toasted and chocolate hints. On the palate this Rioja is complex, structured, fleshly, powerful, with roasted nuances and mature tannins”.
This wine is only made in the finest vintages. The hand-picked grapes, from 60 to 80-year-old vines, are received at the winery, destemmed, and transferred to the fermentation tanks within 30 minutes after being picked. The wine is aged in fine grained American oak casks for 36 months, and a further 18 months in the bottle.
