AR Lenoble is one of the rare producers in Champagne that is still entirely independent and family-owned. Sister-and-brother owners Anne and Antoine Malassagne are the great-grandchildren of Armand-Raphaël Graser who founded AR Lenoble nearly 100 years ago in 1920.
AR Lenoble believes very strongly in privileging the characteristic expression of fruit from its own vineyards. AR Lenoble owns 18 hectares in three prime locations in Champagne: Chouilly, Bisseuil and Damery. 100% of the chardonnay used to craft their wines comes from the Grand Cru village of Chouilly while 100% of the pinot noir comes from the Premier Cru village of Bisseuil. Pinot meunier comes from the village of Damery, headquarters of AR Lenoble since the very beginning.
Anne and Antoine Malassagne believe in a parcellaire approach in both the vineyard and inside the winery. Dosage is consistently reduced to a minimum.
AR Lenoble was the second House in Champagne to be awarded the Haute Valeur Environnmentale certification to encourage sustainable development. The vineyards are also home to a cluster of beehives from which the House makes a limited amount of honey each year.
Over the last 20 years, the efforts of Anne and Antoine Malassagne have been applauded and today, AR Lenoble is recognised as one of the rising stars of the Champagne region by a number of prestigious publications including both Bettane & Desseauve and La Revue du Vin de France.
